Jinseok Lee works with remnants — straw, gauze, worn clothing, earth — attending to the traces of bodily contact and time they carry. Through scraping, pressing, twisting and reweaving, he holds matter at the threshold between collapse and persistence. His recent projects extend this attention to the people whose labour and care quietly sustain a society, and to what a community leaves unclaimed.
